Sougia is located at the end of a long valley in the south-west of Crete, about 75 km from the city of Chania.

You can get there by bus, car or taxi from Chania. The trip takes about 1.5 hour by car and 2 hours by bus.

To get to Sougia from Chania you have to take the road in the direction of Fournes. Approximately 3km before Fournes you turn right, cross a bridge, pass Akianos and follow the road to Skines. After Skines a curvy road leads you up to the Petras Seli pass passing nea Roumata, Prases and Sempronas.

At the Petras Seli pass you keep right and follow the road down passing Agia Irini, Epanochori, Prines, Tsiskiana, and Kambanos. At Rodovani you keep left and drive through Moni to Sougia at the sea.

It is also possible to get to Sougia by boat from Paleohora, Agia Roumeli, Loutro and Hora Sfakion. You can even take your car or motorcycle on the boat.
